The monthly fair

Every first Tuesday morning of the month, the Moulins-Engilbert fair is THE unmissable event for anyone who wants to stroll among the fruit and vegetable stalls, smell the aromas of roast chicken and spices, browse the clothing or small hardware stalls...

The heart of the market is the fairground – the fairground – which once welcomed breeders who came to sell their livestock. Today, the fair extends to Place Lafayette, another historic square in the village.

Going to the fair is also an opportunity to chat and tell each other the latest news. The Morvan accent mixes with Dutch sounds, we find his childhood friends who have come to spend their holidays...

The town of Moulins-Engilbert welcomes a cattle market for the sale of Charolais cows and sheep. This sale takes place at the Marché au Cadran; electronic auction market internationally famous, which brings together breeders and livestock buyers. Set your alarm, put on your boots and meet on Tuesday mornings at dawn to see these magnificent Charolaises parade through the auction rooms.

This electronic auction market was created in 1983 to support the growth of this cattle breed. Historically, the sale took place on the Fairgrounds where the weighbridge on which the animals were weighed still remains.
