Luzy: land of heritage
©Jérôme Champagnat On the banks of the Alene, the town of Luzy, seat of a powerful barony in medieval times, invites you to discover its heritage. Take advantage of a sunny day to come for a walk and discover its small historical heritage, such as the remains of the barons' castle from Luzy.
La Barons Tower, remains of the castle of the barons of Luzy, houses within its walls a museum evoking the trades of yesteryear and the family life of the city's inhabitants at the beginning of the 20th century. Old agricultural tools, daily utensils, old documents, a model of a charcoal burner's hut... so many elements to admire as you visit the site.
The town hall of Luzy houses in its hall of honor eight superb pieces of Aubusson tapestries from the early 18th century, classified as Historic Monuments. With a height of around 2,30 meters, they were specially manufactured for the different panels in the room, some very narrow, others wider. They relate the life of the biblical heroine Esther.
