The Benedictine Priory of Commagny was founded in the High Middle Ages (9th century). The prior's lodgings, rebuilt in the 16th century, and the church, which has remained intact in its architecture from the beginning of the 12th century, still remain. The nave has a very beautiful paneled framework; the cul-de-four choir is decorated with Lombard bands, very rare in Nivernais, the historiated capitals from the 12th century are architectural elements to be discovered in the church.
The main building of the priory is private and cannot be visited.
