Moulins-Engilbert owes its name to the numerous mills which were located on the waterways, the Garat and the Guignon which meander and disappear under the streets. These rivers cross the commune from North to South and meet at the "rivière d'Anizy" (le Guignon) at the place called the Croix Rouge. These 2 category 1 rivers are a delight for trout fishermen...
