This statue of the Virgin, 5 meters high and weighing 9 tons, is the work of Mr. Poutriquet, sculptor from Paris, helped by Mr. Tuduri, decorative sculptor, and Mr. Fouché, stone-cutting sculptor . It was replaced in 2008 by a stone statue sculpted by Joël Dasvin, from Chaulgnes. We observe a magnificent panorama of the Canal du Nivernais and the Monts du Morvan in the distance.
