La Buxaie de la fontaine Chamont

Located in Chamont, near the fountain, this remarkable site is part of the ZNIEFF inventory (Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest) thanks to its boxwood wood.
Look closely: the trees surrounding the path are indeed boxwoods of a size that we are not used to seeing for this traditional ornamental garden species!
Here, nature reigns supreme and invites us to discover it with respect. An educational trail has been created by the Nièvre Departmental Council to best preserve this sensitive natural area. A footbridge allows you to cross the Aron River and connect to hiking trails and the Nivernais Canal.
