The Luzy Town Hall houses Aubusson tapestries classified as historic monuments in 1903. These eight pieces on the theme of the tragedy of Esther, from the beginning of the XNUMXth century, are exhibited in the Hall of Honor.
The appearance of the border of the different hangings, decorated with small stylized flowers, made it possible to date them from the 1st quarter of the 18th century.
These are low smooth tapestries, a technique used in Aubusson and they were made in silk wool.
With a height of around 2.30m, they were specially manufactured for the different panels in the room, some very narrow, others wider.
The theme of this sequel is the life of Esther, as told in the Bible (Old Testament)
